Welcome to Day 23
WYN: towel, water, maybe a mat, a chair or a couch, something you can use as a weight (cans, bottles of water, big bag of rice, books…)
Yihaaaaaa!!!!! (That is the French Canadian version of Yee-haw! I promise.) We will do another strong workout today, but oh so short! I know it seems like a lot when we start it, but I know you can do it, it is the last week to give yourself a chance to do this type of training and like it. Try and savor it. Try and love the sweat. And if you don’t, well, think of how stronger your legs will be and how easy your walks, rolling actions and footwork will become after this.
Your object for the day will be whatever you used as a weight. Bonus points for making me laugh. 😉

Welcome to Day 26
WYN: INSPIRATION!!!
You might not, but I hope you LOVE today and the process that goes with it. We did all this work, mapping phrases, details, learning how to hit accents and now we are ready to create our own line dance. It does not have to be west coast swingable or attach to anything else except what you are hearing in the music.
I am teaching you an easy version I built which can be the one you practice and film, especially if all the mapping was new to you and it still feels a bit muddle; but! make sure you understand what we are doing, to what sound and why!
If you would like to venture out and create your own line dance to the same song, to a different one, maybe even a partner choreography if you have that option, you have until the 30th of march to post your video under today’s thread.
I can not wait to see what you come up with. The sillier, the better. 😉

Welcome to Day 24
WYN: your torso… if you have one
I tried to make the intro of this video funny and… I can’t understand anything I am saying myself. Lolllll! So do not worry: it is not you, it is me. Really. 😉 These drills are going to be pretty standard for most of you. I still want to see you pushing the envelop and seeing how far you can go with it.
Happy Wednesday everybody!

Welcome to Day 25
WYN: your energy, your attention to details and love for yourself
I love this day! I know I say that often… I mean, I love all the days, because I built them with all my love for you to get the best results in your movement practice.
We often think of meditation as a sitting, quiet practice that is separated from our daily life. That is a great way to learn it, but a bit sad if it never integrates into your everyday waking walking life. My hope today is that we bring your dancing practice closer to an ever-lasting meditation, which only means: aware and in the present.
Sending you love and health.

Welcome to Day 20
WYN: a weird object, as always, and an open mind
Good day movement lovers!
I hope this video finds you in a good place and if not, that it will bring you to one. Can you believe we are almost done with the challenge: you are finishing the third week today. We are exploring some basic contrasts today, and when I say basics, it doesn’t mean easy, it means some contrasts that you should know and that are going to help you with your dancing.
We all have ways of moving that feel more natural to us: we tend to be fluid or sharp, we look like we are stomping or floating as we are walking. And it can change throughout the day, depending on your mood, your level of energy, etc… but we still have preferences. Whatever they are, make them your strengths and work on the rest enough that they are not your weakness.
I wish you the freedom to enjoy playing outside of your comfort zone.

Welcome to Day 19
WYN: your map, good sound, a little bit of space and a deep breath
Today is an awesome day! We are getting closer to our final goal of building a masterpiece. Again, do not worry if this is a lot and you are barely following what I am saying: I want you to try and listen to the song again by yourself and find the adjectives YOU feel are appropriate for the sounds YOU are hearing, it might be way different than what I did. And for my master music workers, I am expecting to see that you have pushed yourself to new heights, using a different song, sounds you would not hit in your “standard” dancing and movement that are new to you.
Thank you for being willing to push yourself so far, you’ve all already have made giant steps!
